As a healthcare consultant and educator, Dr. Ed Kesgen is committed to spreading a message of wellness and personal empowerment through a variety of speaking engagements and experiential workshops across the country.

Ed has an academic background in environmental studies, philosophy and psychology. He earned his undergraduate degree at Seton Hall University and graduate degrees from Springfield College and Texas A&M University.

His educational preparation was temporarily interrupted when he spent two tours of duty as a US Naval Officer attached to Attack Squadron 94, deployed aboard the USS
Bon Homme Richard (CVA 31), an aircraft carrier engaged in the Vietnam War effort.

Prior to entering college teaching, Ed worked as an administrator and recreational therapist at a residential treatment center for adolescents with special needs, and in similar capacities at a large custodial home for socially disadvantaged children.

He has held faculty teaching positions at Texas A&M University, Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University), Lyndon State College (VT), and Western Carolina University.

When not traveling, Ed hides out in his home—a mountain cabin nestled in the Smokies of Western North Carolina—with his wife, Annette, and their two Labrador lap beasts, a chocolate economy model named Daisy, and a black, much larger industrial model named Dozer.

His avocational pursuits include sport aviation, tai chi chuan, sailing, writing, hiking, reading, computer geeking, watching Texas Aggie football, and embarrassing his offspring.
