When not traveling, Ed hides out in his home—a mountain cabin nestled in the Smokies of Western North Carolina—with his wife, Annette, and their two Labrador lap beasts, a black industrial-sized model named Dozer (aka He Who Has Not Missed Many Meals) and a smaller, brown, highly opinionated, not to be completely trusted auxiliary dog named Daisy (aka Sneaky Dog).
