Script Describing Movements—Click here to download a .pdf file consisting of a step-by-step instruction sheet for performing the Dance of the Four Directions. It is suggested that the narrative be recorded on a computer hard drive or cassette tape machine and played back as the participant does the form.
Video Demonstration—Filmed by Tom Harrop, this video clip shows Ed demonstrating the Dance of the Four Directions during an educational session at the 2006 Mensa World Gathering in Orlando.
As you will recall, the movement shown is done four times, each starting with an orientation toward one of the compass directions.
When a set of four cycles is completed, three more sets are added (totaling four sets of four movements). Upon completion, take a few deep breaths and have a cup of green tea.
